Gracious God, in a world where corruption, deceit, suspicion and ‘fake news’ regularly fill the headlines, we are full of gratitude for the gospel of Christ, which brings light, hope, truth and ‘good news’ into our lives.
May the confidence that we have new life in Christ make a difference to how we respond to the people and circumstances we encounter, so that our words and actions become ‘good news’ for others. In the name of Christ, Amen.

At this time of year the Christian Church in Britain is blessed, if not “spoilt for choice” by the number of different Christian Conferences that take place. Over Easter, there was the Spring Harvest Convention taking place and over this past Spring Bank Holiday Weekend there have been two festivals to choose from, “The Big Church Day Out” and “The Cliff College Spring Bank Holiday Festival”. Because of the Coronavirus epidemic these have all had to take place in cyberspace, in the “virtual” environment of the internet. For our Bible Study today I thought I would give you the opportunity of dipping your toe into the water of two of these conventions, “Spring Harvest” and “The Cliff College Festival at Home”. Depending upon how much time you have to spend on today’s Bible reflections, you may wish to view these clips on two separate occasions. The first is 9 minutes in length, the second is around 50 minutes. The first is taken from Spring Harvest and is the final of six studies on the beatitudes taken by the Rev Malcom Duncan. The second is very topical to this coming Sunday’s theme of Pentecost and is taken from the Cliff College Festival at Home Bible Study with the Rev Shane Bishop.
